OmniPod approval

Wed, 23 Apr 2008 10:46:19 PDT
I received a call from Insulet about 10 minutes ago with some very good news-- my insurance company, Blue Cross PPO (California) has agreed to pay for 80% of my OmniPod and supplies! My "initial order," which consists of the PDM, 5 boxes of pods, and test strips will be $396.40. After that, a three-month supply (40 pods) will run $221.04. I should be get

WABOT-2, An 80s Robot that Rocked the Synth Retromodo]

Wed, 23 Apr 2008 10:17:00 PDT
In the 80s, the only things bigger than man-perms were robots and synthesizers. Waseda University's WABOT-2 combined both of these trends in to what may be considered the ultimate 80s icon. Extremely advanced for the day, the WABOT-2 could not only read music to play the electronic organ, but accompany a singer with a dynamic tempo and then hold a conversation after the performance. It's Sunday Morning in My House

Sun, 20 Apr 2008 08:27:10 PDT

Because every Sunday patience is rewarded with a bit of wisdom. This morning, that came in the form of a single word uttered by Sen. John McCain. The word was action.

CBC: It’s a “bungle”! No it’s a “blunder”! Hang on: it’s a “gaffe”! It ain’t good, that’s for sure! Just yesterday I had to update my Monday blog entry because the fair and balanced state-owned CBC Newsworld kept changing its mind about the Conservative government’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Maxime Bernier, and how to officially describe his, um, verbal malfunction. On Monday I showed you how Canada’s cable news networks—the state-owned one and the citizen-owned one against which t
